Global Seafood LLC (Morey Fish Company) announced the recall of approximately 262 pounds of Morey’s® Smoked Canadian Lake Trout on Tuesday, August 29, due to possible Salmonella contamination. The product, which has been available in grocery stores since August 15, was distributed in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin. Only those packages bearing the lot number 3616, processed number 225 and “not to be sold or consumed after 9/16/00" are subject to the recall. If consumers have any of the recalled product, they should return it to the store where purchased for a full refund. No illnesses related to the recall have been reported. Consumers with additional questions are asked to call Morey’s hotline, 800-808-FISH (800-808-3474).
