Margaret A. Davis R.N., M.S.N. is currently the Executive Director at the Healthcare Consortium of Illinois. In this role she is responsible for a staff of 80 employees and a budget of $7 million. Some of the programs under her leadership are; the administration of The Healthy Start Southeast Chicago infant mortality reduction project which services 2000 mothers and babies, a senior case management unit servicing 6,000 seniors and case management services for 12,000 children in the Cook County child welfare system; provided asthma education to clients in the Greater Roseland Community; and responsible for organizing a collaborative community asthma summit that attracted 200 community residents. She received her B.S.N. and M.S.N. from Rush University in Chicago, Illinois. For 15 years she was an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Chicago State University. She is an advanced practice nurse, having worked 20 years in the Robert Taylor Housing Complex (a public housing facility) at the Daniel Hale Williams Health Center. She is a tobacco control nurse, often advocating for equitable funding for lung cancer treatment and lecturing on smoking cessation.
