Expedited Partner Therapy for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea in Illinois |
Beginning January 1, 2010, health care professionals in Illinois (licensed physicians, physician assistants and advanced practice nurses) have the option of providing antibiotic therapy (EPT) for the sex partners of individuals infected with chlamydia and gonorrhea, even if they have not been able to perform an exam on the infected patient's partner(s) (Public Act 96-613).
