The Illinois Department of Public Health adheres to the principle that
"public health services are best and most efficiently delivered at the
local level by local health departments." In Illinois, 96 local health
departments, covering 100 of the state's 102 counties, serve 99.5 percent of the
population. To help these agencies in delivering the best possible services to
the people of Illinois, IDPH's State/Local Liaison Unit offers various kinds of
assistance, including technical support and consultation. Questions and answers about local health departments Local Health Department Personnel Compensation Survey Report - (PDF - 405K) Search using the clickable State Map or the Alphabetical listing of health departments. |
