MEDIA ALERT
BEHIND THE SCENES AT ALL SMOKE HIGH
THE STORY OF AN UNUSAL HIGH SCHOOL AND THE ILLINOIS TEENS
WHO BROUGHT IT TO LIFE
| WHAT: |
A 30-minute special on the making of the
popular All Smoke High television advertisements and ending with
the premiere of the final series of All Smoke High ads. The ads were developed
by teens as part of the Illinois Department of Public Healths
anti-tobacco campaign, I Decide. All Smoke High plays off teens misguided
notion that most or all of their peers smoke and shows the absurdity of a
school where everyone does smoke. Teens from Champaign, Macon, McLean, Peoria,
Sangamon, Tazewell and Winnebago counties participated in both the development
and filming of the edgy and award-winning ad campaign, which first aired in
February 2001.
