SIXTH ANNUAL WOMEN’S HEALTH CONFERENCE TO BE HELD SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Illinois Department of Public Health is sponsoring the sixth annual Illinois Women’s Health Conference on Wednesday (Oct. 27) and Thursday (Oct. 28) at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont. The two-day conference will emphasize diet and healthy lifestyle and its relation to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity and mental health. Other topics will include cultural diversity, breast and cervical cancer, autoimmune diseases, and osteoporosis. The conference’s keynote speaker will be Laura Berman, Ph.D., of the Berman Center in Chicago and co-host of “Berman and Berman” on the Discovery Health Channel. She will discuss sexual dysfunction in women at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. A highlight from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday will be a presentation titled, “Creaky Joints: Arthritis Diagnosis, Treatment and Management,” featuring Mark Young, M.D., Laurie Ferguson, Ph.D., and Seth Ginsberg, co-founder of Creaky Joints Inc., in Upper Nyack, N.Y. The conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.
