SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health’s (IDPH) Brothers and Sisters United Against HIV/AIDS (BASUAH) Summer Enrichment Program is hosting a Red Ribbon Remix celebratory luncheon this Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Governor’s Mansion. The luncheon will feature a short documentary about the evolution of HIV/AIDS in communities of color and an awards presentation to Springfield organizations and BASUAH Ambassadors for raising the bar in public health education, outreach and awareness.
BASUAH promotes HIV/AIDS awareness among communities of color through education, collaboration and community engagement. BASUAH Ambassadors are peer educators who deliver information that is understood, accepted and acted upon by various population groups.
