Mail	Order a birth certificate using the mail service. A legible/readable copy of your valid photo identification card must be submitted. If not provided, unreadable or expired, the request will be returned unprocessed.	$15.00 - full certified $10.00 - short form abstract $2.00 each additional copy	Please note: Current processing time on mailed requests for CERTIFIED COPIES ONLY is approximately three to four weeks from the date the request is received.

In Person	Place a birth record request at the front window located at Division of Vital Records Office, 925 East Ridgely Ave., Springfield, IL Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., excluding holidays	$15.00 - full certified $10.00 - short form abstract $2.00 each additional copy	Drop off request for mail out within 3 business days
